Another Scandal - Not the first time for this Draconian Lib Dem council Richmond upon Thames Lib Dem Council Social Services 14/03/2001

Liberal Democrat councillors say NO to any changes or adjournment of highly criticised essential care services scrapping . At a Richmond Council Meeting, the barbaric discrimination continued, with head Liberal Democrat Councillor Tony Barnett, insinuating the disabled are just a bunch of 'liars, cheats and frauds'.

WELCOME TO RICHMOND LIBERAL DEMOCRAT DISABILITY SCRAP HEAP.

Already well known for occupying the unusual position of being the richest borough in the UK yet, the worst for social care investment. Slammed by the press and government investigations, Richmond's liberal democrat track record of discrimination and racialism against the 'not so rich' has changed little over fourteen years. They still pride themselves at maintaining the highest white only ratio of any London borough and showing open discrimination towards those in need of care.

Now, millions in debt from years of entrenched sloppy Lib Dem mismanagement, the local councils Liberal Democrat Social Services have rubber stamp eliminating 100'S of weekly care hours to severely disabled in the borough, thus saving a massive £600,000 (part of a £6Mil cut). Apart from immediately sentencing many disabled people to the fear of being institutionalised and leaving many more without care at all, the proposed changes to eligibility criteria, will insure that any new claimants have only three terrifying options, institutionalisation, the trauma of humiliating assessment by finance (not care) motivated staff or, move out of Draconian Lib Dem Richmond borough, quick! "They may as well put up big notices outside Richmond saying NO ENTRY FOR DISABLED"

The term is Liberal Democrat 'Care Capping'. It works like this.

Are you disabled?

Do you need more than 21 hours care a week?

Do you receive disability benefits?

Do you want to live independently in the community?

Answering yes to these questions will obviously make you very unwelcome in 'oh so rich' Lib-Dem Richmond. As unfortunately Humane, Disability, Care or other public rights are still some strange foreign language here in Lib Dem Richmond. Though a desperate finance driven Liberal Democrat Social department will ensure your subjection to humility, trauma, discrimination, racism, degradation....... is suitably prolonged, before saying NO or, institutionalising you as a final act of discriminative barbarism. Oh, and by the way, If you receive DLA, they will take that from you to pay for the care you don't receive.

Impossible in the year 2001? Afraid not! It's happening HERE. On March 26th 2001, the local Liberal Democrat councillors 'steam rollered' changes to Richmond's Social Care responsibilities that contravene even the basic laws of humanity. Then insulted attending disabled by accusing them of "pretending" to be disabled!In true Draconian local Liberal Democrat style. Just like they have to everyone for years.
