In the U.K. 140,000 people die every year from heart disease,
and exercise is vital if you've had a heart attack, balloon angioplasty, or
bypass surgery, or if you are affected by heart disease in some other way, like
having chest pain when you exert yourself. One in every four men will have a
heart attack before the age of 65, and is on the increase in women.
Heart attack is significantly reduced with 150 kcal of physical activity
per day (100Kcal = approx. 1 mile of walking).
Stroke reduced by 20-40%. Diabetes Type 2 reduced by 30%.
